Hyped up on the latest season of So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Best Dance Crews?! If you’re in the Bay Area this weekend, you gotta check out the 1st Annual Sockhop presented by FunkanometrySF, Saturday, June 21st, at the Regency Center in San Francisco. This first-ever dance showcase will feature some of the illest dance crews in the nation. Here’s the lineup:

FunkanometrySF, no doubt, is one of my favorite dance crews in the Bay Area. Just to add more about them, Funkanometry San Francisco Dance Company is a nonprofit performing arts organization renowned for their cutting-edge choreography, stylistic versatility, and professionalism. It was established in 2002 and has sister branches in Los Angeles and San Diego. Through performances, company classes, workshops, and youth mentorship, Funkanometry SF is a dynamically different dance company whose eccentric style of choreography has been recognized worldwide.
Money profited from the show will go towards Funkanometry San Francisco Dance Company and their upcoming programs, including their Summer Intensive Youth Program, and a new program called “Dance Leaders” which is a high school outreach program designed to teach students leadership skills through directing a dance company.
